CONFIRMED
FANTAVISION 202X is returning to sale. Developer and publisher Cosmo Machia says its licensing agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment has been extended, with Steam sales resuming October 23 at 10:00 AM Pacific and the game reported back on the PS5 PlayStation Store. If you saw a “$2 PS2 classic” headline doing the rounds, that one is about a different game.

What we know
Cosmo Machia’s official statement, posted as a Steam announcement and relayed by Delisted Games and Comic Book Resources, says the Sony licence has been extended. Digital sales on Steam resume October 23 at 10:00 AM Pacific.
According to that same coverage, the game is back on the PS5 PlayStation Store too. We haven’t verified the live store listing ourselves, and no other outlet we rely on has independently reported the relisting yet. For now, treat the PS Store return as reported rather than checked.
The return reverses a removal from earlier this year. Cosmo Machia’s official game website posted an end-of-sales notice saying FANTAVISION 202X was leaving the PlayStation Store and Steam because its licensing agreement with Sony had been terminated. The studio said existing buyers would keep support. PlayStation LifeStyle reported the delisting on June 5, 2026, after checking listings in several regions.
So is this a PS2 game running on PS5? No. PlayStation LifeStyle describes FANTAVISION 202X as a 2023 revival of the 2000 PS2 puzzle game, built for PS5 and compatible with PS VR2. Sony owns the Fantavision IP, which explains why the licence matters at all. Gematsu lists Cosmo Machia as developer and publisher, with a February 22, 2023 release on PS5 and PS VR2, followed by PC on April 27, 2023.
CBR framed the story as a “delisted PS2 classic” returning. That works as shorthand for the series’ roots, but what you’re buying is the modern remake, not an emulated PS2 disc.
The $2 figure is not tied to FANTAVISION 202X. It comes from a separate ComicBook.com story about Tomb Raider: Anniversary, a PS4 and PS5 emulation of the classic PS2 game published by Crystal Dynamics and released on November 18, 2025, which the outlet reports at $2 through a 90% discount running until November 5. That article doesn’t say the game was ever delisted or relisted. We haven’t verified that sale price through the outlets we normally rely on, so consider it unconfirmed. Either way, nothing we found links $2 to FANTAVISION 202X.
What we don’t know yet
The PS5 price. Cosmo Machia’s statement doesn’t specify what FANTAVISION 202X will cost on the PlayStation Store after the relisting.
How long the extension lasts. Delisted Games notes that no end date was given, so there’s no word on whether this is a short reprieve or a longer arrangement.
The PS Store details. The only specific time in the statement is the Steam relaunch. We don’t have a confirmed time or region breakdown for the PlayStation Store return.
What it means

If you skipped FANTAVISION 202X the first time, the window appears to be open again. It’s a fireworks puzzle game with PS VR2 support, and that makes it one of the more interesting small titles for headset owners on PS5.
The bigger takeaway is caution. The game already vanished once over a licence, and the extension has no stated end date. If you’ve been meaning to grab it, don’t assume it will stay on sale indefinitely.
Existing owners shouldn’t need to do anything. Cosmo Machia’s end-of-sales notice said buyers keep support, and the relisting doesn’t change that.
Finally, check the actual store price before you buy. Two separate stories, one about a relisted remake and one about a cheap Tomb Raider sale, got blended into a single “$2 PS2 classic” claim. Fantavision is back, by the studio’s account, but nobody has said it costs $2.
