CONFIRMED
Blackpink’s Lisa released her Press Play EP and the single ‘Tarantino’ overnight on Oct 23, 2026, and Push Square reports the music video squeezes in PS5 product placement near the end. The hardware on screen is the already-announced Lisa DualSense controller, not a new console, even though a ScreenRant headline says “PlayStation’s Next Hardware Release Officially Appears In New Music Video.”
What we know
Push Square reports that Lisa, who is a PlayStation global ambassador, worked a PS5 reference into the closing stretch of the ‘Tarantino’ video. In the scene, a fan spots her near an elevator and hands her the official Lisa DualSense controller design, which she signs. That’s the whole placement. It’s a controller, not a PS5 console.
Billboard’s description lines up. It says the controller appears briefly when Lisa autographs one for a fan, and that the video was directed by James Mackel. ScreenRant reports the video premiered on the LLOUD Official YouTube channel.
The controller itself is already available to order. Push Square says a line of Lisa x PlayStation merchandise can be ordered now from PS Direct, including the limited-edition controller, which Push Square says ships later this month. Billboard puts the release at Oct. 30 in limited quantities and says the controller was designed with Lisa’s help.
The music video isn’t the only promo in play. Billboard reports that a 50-second PlayStation spot showed Lisa grabbing the limited-edition DualSense. The spot also featured Marvel Wolverine, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, God of War: Laufey and Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Billboard frames the whole campaign as an extension of the global PS5 tie-in that began last year.
About that “next hardware” headline: it’s easy to read it as a PS6 tease, but the article behind it doesn’t support that. ScreenRant’s own piece describes the hardware as the branded controller currently available for preorder, and it says the PlayStation 6 may still be a while away. Neither ScreenRant nor Push Square reports any new console in the video. A new controller technically counts as new hardware, so the headline isn’t false. It just sounds much bigger than what’s on screen.
What we don’t know yet
The reporting we have doesn’t include stock numbers, so it’s unclear how limited “limited quantities” really is or how fast it might sell out.
Pricing and regional availability aren’t covered in the reporting, so check PS Direct for your region rather than relying on secondhand figures.
We also don’t know whether the controller will reach other retailers beyond PS Direct, or whether more Lisa x PlayStation content is planned beyond the video and the 50-second spot.
On the console front, nothing in this story tells us anything about Sony’s next machine. There’s no PS6 announcement here, from Sony or anyone else.
What it means
If you’re a Lisa fan or a DualSense collector, the practical takeaway is simple. The controller is orderable now through PS Direct, Push Square says it ships later this month, and Billboard says it’s a limited run. If you want one, don’t wait for a restock that may never come.
If you clicked expecting a first look at a PS6, this isn’t it. The ‘Tarantino’ cameo is a well-placed ad for a special-edition controller, and a fairly subtle one: a fan, an elevator, an autograph.
The bigger lesson is about headlines. “Next hardware release” can mean a whole console or a limited-edition gamepad, and in this case it means the gamepad. When a headline hints at a console reveal, check what the article actually describes before getting your hopes up.
